Have your say on plan for good food strategy
People across South Lanarkshire are being asked their views on the introduction of a Good Food strategy for the area.
The plan, which is currently under development, will set out objectives and actions to tackle food-related challenges, while also answering the needs and demands of South Lanarkshire communities.
Residents are asked to take part in a survey on the proposed objectives of the strategy.
Executive director of community and enterprise resources, Michael McGlynn, said: “I hope as many people as possible will take part in this consultation and let us know their views.
“The strategy will run from 2019 until 2024 and will include a vision for a fairer, healthier and sustainable food system for the council, its partners and communities.
“As a council we are determined to move towards more sustainable food systems to tackle health, social, economic and environmental challenges related to food.”
Mr McGlynn added: “We also recognise that as a local authority it is important that we take the lead in terms of demonstrating how food issues should be tackled.”
For more information about the development of the plan, visit the food strategy page on the local authority’s website.
The survey will remain open until June 28.
