Rutherglen Old Parish Church’s tearoom will be open on Landemer Day, June 1 from 10am until 1.30pm.

They shall be serving tea, coffee, cakes and filled rolls.

There is full accessibil­ity for the less able, and they shall be glad to welcome anyone in need of a little peace from the hustle and bustle outside. Each week Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open from noon until 2pm for Thoughtful Thursday, a short time to enjoy tea and chat, and availabili­ty of the sanctuary for some quiet time.

Folks are invited to bring along their lunch, and eat in the comfort of a warm, friendly atmosphere.

The strawberry fayre at King’s Park Parish Church will take place on Saturday June 1. God Tock continues every Monday at 7pm at King’s Park Parish Church.

A prayer group meets there on Tuesday mornings and on Wednesday evenings.

The dementia cafe meets on the last Friday of every month, 10.30am until noon. Eat Up takes place every week at St Bride’s between noon and 2pm, offering a hot meal and a chance for company. The church will hold an afternoon tea dance on Saturday June 8 from 2pm.

And there will be a quiz night held there on June 22.

The cafe @the meeting place at Stonelaw Parish Church is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

The church holds Faith on Friday services on the second Friday of every month, featuring stories, activities and games. The next cafe church service at Burnside Blairbeth will be held on June 16.

Castlemilk Parish Church hold community meals on the third Friday of the month.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am until noon.

Refresh classes take place every Friday at Croftfoot Parish Church from 2pm until 4pm.

It is a chance to enjoy a cuppa and a chat, as well as hand massage, games of pool, spiritual reading and confidenti­al prayer, including healing. Fernhill and Cathkin Church’s Tuesday Tea Room is up and running and locals are welcome to drop in for a bacon or sausage filled roll with plenty of tea, coffee and good chat.

T in the Croft takes place every Friday morning at Croftfoot Parish Church from 10am until noon.

It also hosts Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month, 11.30am -1.30pm. Entry is £1.50.

St Columbkill­e’s Parish Church have a choral group that meet up every week.

The group meet under the leadership of Rebecca and Alan Tavernier.

The First Tuesday Club is a group for those living with dementia and their carers.

They meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 1.30pm.

Rutherglen Baptist Community Church’s popular Messy Church is held on the last Saturday of every month.

Messy Church takes place between 4pm and 6pm in the church building in Greenhill Road at the corner of Stonelaw Road, behind the shopping centre.
