Name of scooter: Violator Scooter model: 1970 made Lambretta DL200 Date purchased & cost: 2016 for €3000, it’s a DL200. Inspiratio­n for project: Bring it back on the streeet after a 25-year sleep in a shed. Time to build & by who: In 1991 by previous owner and me (it was my mate) and in 2016 by Worb5. Any specialise­d parts or frame mods? What & by whom: Twisted stand, shortend floorboard­s donee by owner. Engine spec Kit: BGM 225 racetour, AF ignition from ’90. Crank: Tameni race long-stroke 231cc. Carb: dellorto 30mm. Exhaust: TSR evolution. Clutch: Four-plate with strong springs. Gearbox: Standard DL200. Porting work by: Worb5. Dyno done by: Worb5. Describe engine performanc­e, power delivery and scooter handling: Pulls like a train with her 17hp at 6000rpm. Are there any other unique details we have missed: Self-made hydraulic disc brake. Is the scooter reliable: So far, knock on wood. Paintwork & murals done by: Base coat self-made in ’91 by owner and prev owner VW Oceanic Metallic. Murals by Ullrich Lau. Is there any engraving done by: By prev owner and Adi Clark (top guy). Is there any chrome: Some old parts done here in Germany ’91. New work done by quality chrome in Hull. Overall cost: Around €9000. What was the hardest part of the project: Getting the scooter back from my old but lost friend after 25 years of writing emails and letters. Do you have any advice or tech tips for anyone starting a project: When your time is as rare as an original soul ’45, go to the experts !
