Name of scooter & reason: ‘Pogue Mahone’. I’m a big Pogues fan and always wanted to build a tribute bike. Scooter model: Innocenti SX150. Inspiratio­n for project: Love 80s custom scooters and cut-downs. Time to build & by who: Seven months, all by me except paint. Any specialise­d parts or frame mods: Full cut-down, shortened headstock, forks, horn cast, ‘leggies’ and the frameloop is removable. There is a self-engineered radial disc-brake and various engine parts CNC-made like gear linkage and muffler. Engine spec: Kit: 225 TS1, Crank: 60mil. Carb: 34 Amal. Exhaust: TSR Evo. Clutch: Liedolshei­m. Gearbox: GP200. Porting work by: Myself. Dyno done by: Myself – 23hp. Describe engine performanc­e, power delivery and scooter handling: Great tourer, oldskool – 23hp. Top speed & cruising speed: 120km/h. Is the scooter reliable: Totally. Paintwork & murals done by: Danny Schramm from Schrammwer­k Custom Paintings. Is there any chrome: Böge HH. Overall cost: €6000. Hardest part of the project: Getting TÜV for all parts. Advice or tech tips for anyone starting a project: Always make a dry build before painting. Is there anything still to add to the scoot: New engine with 30hp plus. In hindsight, is there anything you would have done differentl­y to the scooter: Yes, cut side panels would have been nice.
