Name of scooter & reason: Sole Racer (Adidas Spezial). Two items crossed off my bucket list: DTC paint job and Adidas-themed street racer! Scooter model: GP125 Date purchased & cost: 2012 Inspiratio­n for project: On-going obsession with Adidas trainers, particular­ly the Spezial (SPZL) collection

Time to build and by who: Built by myself from dry build to finish, only exception being Maca on paint, Darrell on top end build and Austen/ Stuart for welding Any specialise­d parts: Flywheel cowl altered for better airflow and removal; splash plate trimmed; horn casting badge; petrol tap and choke blanking badged; extra holes in frame loop for cooling; wiring harness through the frame tube; end can strap re-shaped; all mods done by myself Engine spec: Kit: Taylor Tuned RB20, AF Mammoth Head, Ignition: Casatronic Ignition, lightened flywheel Crank: 62 x 116 Darrell Taylor Carb: Mikuni TMX 35, LTH Inlet, VForce Reed Valve Exhaust: Franspeed Supertoure­r / Darrell Taylor end can Clutch: LTH 7 plate, Casa chain guide and endplate, Iwis chain Gearbox: AF 5-speed close ratio Porting & Dyno work by: Darrell Taylor Paintwork and murals done by: Maca at DTC: Black basecoat, (SPZL logo background design) Silver Rainbow XL over-coated with Royal Blue Candy. Design and logos in Lumo Green and Off-white Is there any powder coating: Full engine in Metallic Anthracite Overall cost: £… more than the last one, less than the next!!

Hardest part of the project: Building it without scratching the paint and putting the wiring through the frame tube was a pain! Advice for anyone starting a project:

Most important job is full nut and bolt dry build, measure twice, cut once(!) and buy the best quality parts available, as the saying goes… Buy cheap, buy twice! In hindsight, is there anything you
