Having circulated the main field over the course of Friday and Saturday, I’d already picked out potential winners of the ‘Campsite Custom’ award. With these scooters in mind, on Saturday afternoon I developed the ‘narrowing down’ stage of the decision by checking to see if any of them had been entered into the official rally custom show. Having viewed the custom show I discovered that two of the scooters I’d had my eye on had been entered, which left me with a choice of three. I returned to the main field and finalised my judgement. The choice was close, but Simon Tipper’s stunning Lambretta Street-Racer won me over.

Simon explained that he’d always wanted a street-racer. “I moved up from having an Indian GP200 and it was the upgrade that I’d always wanted!”

Simon bought the scooter in April 22018 after seeing it advertised on social mmedia. “I bought it from Sean Pedelty in the condition that it’s in now, and I’m ggrateful to him and the people involved in the build They’re a lot smarter than mme, the scooter looks terrific and the pperformance is fantastic. I have to say tthank you to them all that I’m now able tto enjoy riding it!”

Simon described the performance as beingb a beautiful bike to ride. “It’s quick,q it’s responsive and it’s everything you’dy expect from a quality street-racer. It cruises at 80mph no problem and the t top speed is 90mph+!”

The only potential upgrade that Simon i s considering making is replacing the current c front disc brake with a Casa item.
