Name: Tracy Child Scooter club & town: King’s Scooter Club, Horbury How did you first become interested in
scooters: In 2008 when I went to my brother-in-law’s garage one day and saw a PX125 disc in cobalt blue outside Your first scooter:
Vespa PX 125 Your favourite scooter model: Lambretta Your favourite style of custom scooter:
Ones that tell a story about the owners or their scooter First rally or event:
Highrollers, Las Vegas, scooter rally 2009; their 10th year anniversary Favourite and worst rally/ event:
Fav - Bridlington: I love the custom show in the Spa and all the scoots outside Worst - Morecombe: Bad experience with locals in the evening event who were clearly not there for the scene and were just there to cause trouble What is the funniest experience with a scooter:
Heading off to my first group ride out on my Vespa PX. I got to the end of the drive on to the path and started to pull out on to the main road. I stalled it and tried to get off the scooter, for some reason it was like a horse. I got my leg stuck in the back rack and ended up in a heap at the side of the road. With my pride dented a small ‘paddy’ followed and I missed the group ride. However, this also helped me to accept defeat with a geared scoot! What do you like about rallies:
I love seeing all the various scooters and the artwork. I also love meeting new and old friends, and having a good drinking ‘sesh’ What do you dislike about rallies:
The main acts coming on too late. I prefer things going on through the day What’s your favourite Scootering magazine feature:
Scooter Boy tales Your favourite custom scooter of all time:
Faithful Friend. Loved this and the story behind it
