Welcome to the Scootering ‘Tuning from Travels’ Supplement

The scootering life is a wide and varied one, encompassing many different facets, and the passion for scooters has become a life’s work for many. I personally think that we are lucky to have so many unusual, passionate and clever individuals out there, willing to devote themselves and their finances to start up new businesses, and furnish us with all sorts of mind-boggling goodies for our scooters. Christian Giarrizzo, our Italian roving reporter, has met a few of these ‘shining stars’ along the way, and with his broken Italian-English writing, managed to bring us some fascinating insights into not just the businesses, but the people behind them. Anyone can tell you what the latest fandangled contraption is, or rush ‘exclusive’ pictures of new and shiny products out to the masses, but it takes a man of meaning, with a passionate and honest heart, to dig deeper into the souls of the men who run these businesses and develop those products.

Christian Giarrizzo is that man. He has ridden his little ‘Vespa Negra’ far and wide, travelling away for weeks at a time, to bring us the best stories from some brilliant people, and trust me… within the main pages of the magazine there are a number of great stories still to come! But for now, this little supplement shows just a few of the past stories our passionate Italian friend has unearthed for us whilst on his Vespa travels. Please rest assured though, this supplement is by no means an exhaustive list… not at all. There were far more stories already covered which we wanted to fit in and didn’t have space for, and so many more individuals we (Christian, Stan, Sarge, Stu, myself and the team) have still yet to visit.
