Name of scooter & reason: Yambretta.

Scooter model: GP200.

Inspiratio­n for project: Just seeing other custom scooters at rallies and at shows. I still admire so many great-looking scooters, but I also like speed!

Engine: Completely rebuilt Yamaha YPVS 350 engine including new cranks pistons, ‘Cool-head’ cylinder head. Carb: 2x New Mikuni carbs with matching air filters.

Exhaust: Twin Microns with PM Tuning end cans.

Clutch: YPVS.

Gearbox: Standard six-speed including Kliktronic push-button gear-shift. What brand of oil do you run: Silkolene Comp 2. 5% pre-mix.

CHASSIS SPEC:

Rims: Front: Sip 10in. Rear: Piaggio converted with sprocket.

Suspension: Front: Targa adjustable dampers. Rear: Twin adjustable shocks. Speedo: Sip Digital.

Grips: Foam anti-vibration soft-grip. Levers: Standard Lambretta.

Cable brand: All bespoke fitting by Gary Hancox.

Seat: Bespoke custom. Trimmed by Ken’s Customs.

Fuel tank & tap: hand-built by Gary Hancox. Standard Lambretta fuel tap. Hubs: Lambretta front and Paiggio Mag rear.

Brakes:

Discs front and rear.

Describe engine performanc­e and scooter handling: The scooter rides like a dream at any speed. It feels planted on the road and stable and safe at high speed. It corners well and it’s a pleasure to ride.

Top speed & cruising speed: Top: 100mph+. Cruising: 70mph all day long (and surprising­ly good on fuel!)
