‘Dedicated Follower of Fashion’ article – an apology

-

I'd like to take this opportunity to make a formal apology to Mr Mark Jackson (Preston Wildcats) regarding my article ‘A Dedicated Follower Of Fashion' (January 2021 Issue). I would like to state that I am the sole writer of that article, not Mr Jackson, as it may have been interpreted.

After writing the article, Mr Jackson had asked me to send him a draft – this I did not do and it is here that I wish to apologise as I now realise that if I had sent him the draft, anything wrong in it would have been corrected and ironed out. I am totally sorry that I did not do this as requested by Mr Jackson and since the article was published, it has been brought to my attention, that there were numerous inaccuracies contained within it which have caused both upset and distress.

I deeply and totally regret my behaviour and wish to make a formal apology over this particular article. It was not my intention at any stage to cause upset or offence to Mr Jackson or his family. I have known them for many years and I am horrified to think that I have upset them. For this I am truly sorry and wish to apologise and also let him know as this will never happen again. I am really sorry for lowering my standards over this matter. Paul Foley Fielding Classic Scooterist accepts that on this occasion, it failed to carry out the necessary protocols and checks in order to validate certain details contained within the article and the manner in which it was written; this in turn, failed to fully protect the rights of third party individuals mentioned. In future, more thorough steps will be taken internally to ensure that this does not happen again. Mau Spencer (editor)
