Overview: Another ‘baby brother' version of a larger kit. According to the guys at Casa Performance: “The cylinders are the same, only the bore size is different. They both use the large-block 200cc type intake manifold. Piston ported inlet with five ports, made by Gilardoni in Italy, it is a cast alloy Nicasil lined barrel. It comes with a new concentric head to improve cooling, a T-shaped exhaust port, which is a unique design for Casa Lambretta, running a cast 66.4mm Meteor piston with two Japanese NPR 1mm rings. Cylinder stud threads are reinforced with stainless steel inserts. Great torque for a mile-munching scooter. These kits work perfectly with PHBH 28/30mm carb range, and are complete with gaskets, studs and hardware. Note - Intake manifold (Casa Lambretta X12a) is not included.”

Tuning suggestions: It's really nice to see a ‘true 200cc' kit for the small-block casing (almost 201cc!), but as far as tuning goes, the current info is entirely verbatim as per the above 225 version of this brand new kit just released to market. The kit is barely announced, so it wouldn't be fair to say too much on this point yet, but if we think along the lines of other piston port kits, taking into account port timings, port area, exhaust, carb, ignition, gearing options and so on… you won't be far off the mark. Time will tell.

Next month: Stay tuned for the following instalment of our aftermarket tuning series.
