Scootering

SCOOTER SPECIFICATION

-

Name of scooter (reason & inspiration): Beside the Seaside. Going to the east coast as a kid with my parents and looking around the curiosity shops and all the Bamforth naughty postcards.

Scooter model: Started life as a ltalian GP125.

Time to build & by who: Built by the brilliant Gary White (Darlington) who was mint to deal with. His attention to detail was mega and nothing was too much trouble (we were on the same wavelength).

ENGINE SPEC

(Please list all changes from the standard spec of the engine)

Kit: Casa SST265.

Frame spec:

Paintwork & murals by: Carl Taylor (Eclat Detailing) did the main colour and lacquer, all the murals are by Colin Fitzgerald of The Garage Artwerks.

Seat by: Asked Andrew Corcoran to build me a Snetterton seat with T-piece out of black leather with the embroidery on and a gel insert for comfort (to cushion my old backside).

Any frame modifications? What & by whom: Toolbox frenched in by Col as we were fitting an Oiltek tank.

Are there are any specialised parts: Casa engine, BGM front dampers, BGM rear damper, carbon head cowling, Casa toolbox, carbon SIP speedo, carbon rear mudguard, handmade battery box and SIP brain holder by Gary White, handmade Snetterton seat with gel insert, Oiltek tank, Oiltek finger choke, Casa legshield toolbox, SIP fuel switch.

What was the hardest part of the project: Getting all the right bits and getting the right people involved to help.

Do you have any advice or tech tips for anyone starting a project: Get someone with good knowledge to help you buy a bike if you’ve been out of the scene for 42 years!!

Is there anything still to add to the scoot: I may add some more murals to the Oiltek tank as it’s quite a big black area to look at when the panels are off. Otherwise I think it’s just about there, maybe the new LC Casa kit!!

Is there anyone you wish to thank: Phil Morley for help sourcing the bike. Carl Taylor, Eclat Detailing (main paintwork). Colin Fitzgerald, The Garage Artwerks for the fantastic artwork (legend). Gary White for the bike build – fantastic job. What a great guy, even if he drinks rosé wine!
