Mid Cheshire Charity Scooter Rally (MCCSR) returns!

-

After four years looking for a new home and two cancelled events due to Covid lockdowns, the

MCCSR and beer festival finally returned to the rally calendar on May 6 and 7 at Lady Heyes holiday park near Frodsham in Cheshire.

With three live bands and a well-stocked bar, everyone soon got back into the spirit of the rally. Organised by the Rotary Club of Frodsham and Helsby all profits go to charity. Between 2013 and 2016, the event has raised more than £52k for many local and national charities.

Norrie Kerr was the guest judge and enjoyed catching up with his old racing mate Nigel Ashbrook from the local Omega Squad Scooter Club. Taking the best in show was Nick Edwards and his Beatlesthemed Vespa. But by far the happiest bunnies at the show were Rotarian Mike Collins and his wife Pauline who, with the help of Ed Parry, the winner of the Best Vintage award with his Lambretta LD, recreated a picture from 62 years ago!

After the trophy presentation, Norrie received his own award, a gift from the rotary club of a framed caricature original drawing. The list of all the award winners has been published on the rally website at: www.heartfest.co.uk

It was obvious from the feedback on Facebook immediately after the rally that the new venue got the thumbs up; so much so that in three hours following the announcement of next year’s dates (May 5 and 6) more than 75% of the glamping pods were sold out for 2023! Caravan and motorhome plots are also selling fast, so, if you haven’t already booked, contact Lady Heyes holiday park on 01928 788557.
