The rising cost of living the scooter lifestyle

-

Living in the real world is hard and costs are going up all the time; we’re all having our budgets stretched to the limit and often end up having to make unpleasant lifestyle choices. And it doesn’t take long for that to filter down into the scooterist world. It could mean that you can’t afford to attend every event you’d like to; or maybe you have to look at the cost of running your scooter, etc, etc. But it isn’t just ‘Joe Scooterist’ who’s suffering from these problems; just spare a thought for event organisers as well.

You’ll quite often hear scooterists moaning about the cost of a pint, a burger and more specifically, the cost of an event ticket – but is it always the event organiser’s fault? The cost of putting on an event is a constant worry for organisers due to a combination of things including event insurance, food/drink prices and especially the cost of hiring a venue.

A combination of these and other unmentioned concerns make pre-event planning a major headache. Already so far this year several major UK national/international events have had to change tack and relocate their already well-publicised rallies and I’m sure there are many other events that have had to do the same. None of this makes for a good picture for 2023.

So, before you kick off about how you’ve had to cancel/change your planned accommodation, or that the price of your ticket has gone up, just take some time to think about why this has happened. The circumstances may well have been out of the organiser’s hands.
