Four dierent types of leather are used to make Mackenzie products: Italian Saddle Hide, Italian Soft Hide, Spanish Shiny, and British Oak. Each has distinct qualities that lend themselves to particular pieces. The craftsmen are so familiar with the feel of the hides, that they intuitively know how to cut each one to perfectly form the fabric of the design.
Working with their hands, they gently persuade strong threads through layers of leather to bind seams strong enough to last a lifetime. As each piece passes through the hands of the craftsmen, its story grows richer. It gathers the essence of every character who has played their part in its creation.
