Following in the footsteps of rivals ITV and Channel 4, the channel will allow viewers to watch shows an hour after they are scheduled. It is unclear when it will launch.

BBC STORE

The BBC’s version of Apple’s iTunes store offering shows – from classics such as Fawlty Towers to recent hits such as Sherlock – to buy and keep.

iPLAYER

Programmes will be available for 30 days, rather than the current seven, after being shown on terrestria­l TV, while some will be exclusive to iPlayer. Viewers will have personalis­ed recommenda­tions. BBC PLAYLISTER

Audiences will be able to listen to radio online and ‘tag’ music they like. It will link to online streaming sites such as Spotify, YouTube and Deezer, where the entire track can be played for free. OPEN MINDS

A project designed to gather the best of Radio 3,

Radio 4 and the World Service on a single website. It will also play content from seminars and lectures at the British Library and the Hay Festival.

CODING PROJECT

In 2015, the BBC plans to launch an initiative to teach young people how to write computer code, create their own websites and ‘get creative with digital technology’. It is thought the corporatio­n plans to work with schools and technology firms to educate pupils.
