Noise nuisance

-

MANY people reading about the young woman in Fife who has been temporarily evicted from her flat due to excessive noise and nuisance will be wondering why it took more than 45 complaints for action to be taken.

I’ve been subjected to more than a year of disturbed or completely sleepless nights due to the noisy ‘party’ lifestyle of an over-indulged jobless teenager whose father bought him a flat next to mine.

It took three police visits, several council visits and a plea to my local MP to get some peace and quiet, plus an e x pensi v e i ns t a l l a t i o n of soundproofing.

The young man involved has recently started upping the noise level again and I’m faced with the same old rigmarole once more.

Depriving someone of sleep night after night until 5am is a form of mental torture, and I feel very strongly that some rules and regulations badly need to be put in place in this regard, country-wide.
