Mackay-Steven happy to be in the shadows
DUNDEE UNITED’S Gary Mackay-Steven last night admitted he’s happy to get a break from the limelight while his younger team-mates grab the attention. The winger has been the subject of transfer speculation since joining United in 2011, but the 23-year-old has found himself taking a back seat to Tannadice trio John Souttar, Ryan Gauld and Andrew Robertson. Souttar has been linked with Sunderland and QPR, Robertson with Liverpool and Gauld with Real Madrid. ‘It’s nice not to have the speculation every day and people asking me what’s happening,’ said Mackay-Steven. ‘I’m sure the boys will be the same and get people asking about things all the time.’
