New editor for your Scottish Daily Mail

THE Scottish Daily Mail has appointed a new editor, replacing Chris Williams who retires after ten highly successful years at the helm.

The new editor – who will also take charge of our sister paper, The Scottish Mail on Sunday – is Andy Harries.

Mr Harries, 46, has been editor of the Scottish Sun for the past three years, before which he was the deputy editor here at the Scottish Daily Mail.

Paul Dacre, editor in chief of the Mail Newspapers, said: ‘Andy has previously spent ten years with the Scottish Daily Mail and I am delighted that he is returning to his natural home at such an important and exciting time f or Scotland.’

Mr Harries said: ‘After three challengin­g and enjoyable years at the Scottish Sun, I’m delighted to have been given the opportunit­y to return to the Daily Mail fold.

‘I learned much from Chris Williams during our years together and look forward to the challenges ahead.’
