ANOTHER Drama Matters pilot, this one written by Last Tango In Halifax’s Sally Wainwright. Katherine Kelly is Alice, a scruffy, limping drifter who is taken in by Anne Reid’s kindly widow Miranda (pictured with Kelly). Alice is living under a cloud; she’s an escaped prisoner, but the police are the least of her worries. Lurking beneath the hurried pace is an alluring set-up with plenty more to reveal. This is one pilot that needs further developmen­t to really thrive.
