Unmasked, the most famous Scotsman in Uruguay

-

WITH his Scotland top, Saltire and see-you-Jimmy hat, he was seen on TV cheering Luis Suarez’s two-goal demolition of England.

Images of the cheeky Scot’s antics at the World Cup match between Roy Hodgson’s side and Uruguay on Thursday soon went viral online.

And yesterday he was named as Glasgow engineer Mark McConville, 41, who, according to his family, does not have an antiEnglish bone in his body.

Mr McConville, who lives and works in Brazil, is well known for his charity endeavours, providing football equipment for underprivileged children.

His parents, Andy, 68, and Isabell, 66, said his capers were nothing more than ‘banter’.

His father added: ‘He’s not the shyest of guys. He’s having a good time and he’ll probably be in Brazil until they throw him out.’
