Teen held for Muslim death

-

POLICE have arrested a 19year- old man in connection with the frenzied murder of a Muslim student.

Nahid Almanea, 31, died on Tuesday after being stabbed 16 times as she walked along a secluded pathway to her English class at the University of Essex in Colchester.

A 52-year-old man who was initially arrested has been released without charge after being ‘positively eliminated from inquiries’.

But last night police arrested the teenager in connection with the ‘savage’ attack on the Saudi Arabian student.

The 19-year- old was initially arrested on Thursday after a woman jogging along a road close to where Miss Almanea was killed managed to fight off an attack. After questioning, detectives then arrested him in connection with the murder of Miss Almanea.

After jihadists urged British Muslims to carry out revenge attacks for Miss Almanea’s death, senior police officers called for calm.
