A survey that’s all at sea

-

ACCORDING to TripAdvisor, that whingeing bellweather of public opinion, the Royal Yacht Britannia is ‘the UK’s top landmark’. Really? A decommissioned yacht that used to belong to the Queen ahead of Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, Windsor Castle – in fact just about any castle you care to mention, as well as Big Ben, the Wallace Monument, Westminster Abbey and countless others? Yet another example of why you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet – particularly when it’s been voted for by the sort of people who think it’s important to tell the world that the last time they stayed at Aberdeen airport Travelodge their tooth mug had a bit of a chip in it.
