SHARAPOVA makes $22million (£12.9m) a year from endorsements, according to Forbes.

Her sponsors are: Nike, Head equipment, Avon fragrance (signed after Roland Garros 2014), Evian, Porsche, Supergoop (suncream), , Tag Heuer.

In its first 12 months (according to Forbes), Sugarpova sold 1.3million bags of sweets at around £3.20 each. This year she has opened a pop-up shop on Wimbledon Village High Street.

Earnings (not including appearance fees): 2014 — $3,691,106 (£2,169,320).
