My Bare Lady... as Karen strips for new role
SHE is starring in a new sitcom which follows a narcissistic 20-something woman who is obsessed with taking pictures of herself.
And Karen Gillian certainly wasn’t shy of stripping off as she filmed raunchy scenes for upcoming ABC series Selfie.
The 26-year-old Scot – best known for her role as Amy Pond in Doctor Who – was seen posing topless in one scene, gazing seductively at the camera as she covers her modesty with one hand.
Her flame-red locks are styled into curls, while she wears a fuchsia lipstick and smoky grey eyeshadow.
Using a similar plot to Pygmalion and My Fair Lady, the series will follow the life of Eliza Dooley, a modern-day version of Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle.
She is obsessed with becoming f amous through taking selfies and posts on Instagram until she realises that she needs real-life friends rather than on-line ones.
After the humiliating break-up of her relationship is made public, she finds that she has more on-line followers that she ever imagined – but for all the wrong reasons.
This prompts her to hire marketing guru Henry Higenbottam – a contemporary version of Henry Higgins, played by John Cho. He has the job of transforming Eliza’s image.
On the big screen Miss Gillan, from Inverness, is also starring in the superhero science fiction film Guardians of the Galaxy, which is scheduled for release in August.
She plays alien supervillain Nebula, a pirate and mercenary, and had her head shaved for the role.
