A £3k juicer and a £9k vase: Gwynnie’s ideas for Christmas 9,000 £

- From Daniel Bates in New York

SHE has already told us how we could splash out £300,000 on a new summer wardrobe. Now Gwyneth Paltrow is urging us to line up a few pricey stocking fillers – and top of her picks is a gold-plated juicer costing £3,100.

The item is on a £69,000 list of festive gifts recommended on her lifestyle website Goop – which has been operating at a loss and has been much derided for its extravagant gift ideas that seem only within reach of the super-rich.

Miss Paltrow, who earns around £12million a year from movies, urged fans to treat a loved one to the Easy Health Angel Juicer Gold – the world’s first gold-plated juicer – because it is ‘absurd, but awesome’.

She also recommends a £9,000 di a mond- s haped vase f r om luxury brand Esque and ‘bargains’ including a £4,800 Cartier bracelet and camouflage baggage from Valentino at £2,900.

Although she admits the bag is costly, the Hollywood star writes: ‘Yeah right, but how cool is this?’

The actress’s Christmas guide was already attracting derisive comments on social media last night. Lynda Swaney wrote on Twitter: ‘Do we need this?... Truly the most ridiculous items!’

Another critic tweeted: ‘I’d like to nominate Goop for most ridiculous gift guide. Does your gift guide have a fringed cashmere cape for $3K?’ Another said: ‘Gwyneth thinks a $4,700 gold juicer and a $765 nonfunctional plate are fun gifts’.

For children aged between 12 and 14 she suggests a £90 GoPro camera and a £367 pair of Golden Goose sneakers from US department store Barneys. Miss Paltrow suggests a £900 Hermes Avalon blanket, writing wistfully: ‘If only we could buy these in bulk.’

For the home she recommends a £29 bread bin because it is ‘significantly prettier than a plastic bag’.

She wrote: ‘We tried to keep as much as possible at the $100 (£62) mark, though there are some splurges for your nearest and dearest. Plus, a girl can always dream.’

Despite her upbeat tone, Goop is losing money and Miss Paltrow has been unable to work out how to make it work three years after founding the website.

The latest financial report filed with Companies House in the UK reveals that it is now facing debts of £1million.

Between 2012 and last year, company assets also fell from £530,184 to £476,410 and massive loans will have to be repaid for it to stay in business. Miss Paltrow says Goop is there to ‘share all of life’s positives’ and features cookery recipes, fashion advice and travel tips.

They included a £3,619 Valentino Rockstud python trapeze bag and a pair of £559 Alexander Wang leather shorts.

Miss Paltrow, 42, earns around £12million a year from the Iron Man franchise.

She and her estranged husband, Coldplay l ead vocalist Chris Martin, 37, are also said to have a combined wealth of £190million from their successful careers.
