Seven days to get City Link parcels

- By Ruth Lythe r.lythe@dailymail.co.uk

THOUSANDS of customers of collapsed parcel firm City Link have until January 6 to pick up their packages themselves — or risk losing their goods.

Around 30,000 undelivered parcels are waiting to be collected from 53 depots around the country after the firm’s Christmas closure.

Customers have until 8pm on January 6 to pick up their packages. They can find out which depot to go to by logging on to the firm’s online tracking system at city-link.co.uk, but will need a reference number to do so. Administrators EY says it will hold the parcels for the ‘foreseeable future’ after January 6, but it was unable to tell Money Mail how long this would be and what would happen to any parcels that were not collected by the deadline.

Customers would be contacted to let them know they had a parcel awaiting collection.

It is also not clear how far customers will have to travel to pick up their packages, although it is understood that most will be from their nearest depot.

Customers must bring proof of their purchase, as well as their proof of identification and proof of address.

If they have sent a parcel, they must also bring their consignment number. The depots open at 8am and close at 8pm.

The firm’s 2,727–strong workforce have been told to expect ‘substantial’ job cuts.
