Led Zeppelin guitar hero, 71, and lover who’s a third his age
PERHAPS it wasn’t quite the way Jimmy Page would have done things in his raucous Led Zeppelin heyday.
The veteran guitarist enjoyed a 71st birthday meal at a branch of the chicken restaurant chain Nando’s.
But at least he was accompanied by one essential for an ageing rock star – the much younger girlfriend.
Page was spotted eating with 25-year-old actress Scarlett Sabet at the Nando’s in West London twice last week.
The pair were first seen eating together on Monday and then again on Friday, his birthday, when they enjoyed a meal before stopping off at a record store, a juice bar and to buy some sushi.
They then visited a health food shop before finally calling it a night and heading home at 6pm.
A source told The Sun: ‘Jimmy is leading a very conventional life by the looks of things, not very rock’n’roll. His new girlfriend seems a very normal kind of girl.’
Page, who split from his second wife in 2008, was well-known for his heroin abuse and for sleeping with many women while touring the world with Led Zeppelin.
Now worth an estimated £80million and having been awarded an OBE in 2005, he has five children and two grandchildren. His eldest child Scarlet, 43, is 18 years older than his new girlfriend, with whom she shares a first name.
Miss Sabet recently published a book of poetry called Rocking Underground, which she is selling on her website for £25.
She appeared in low-budget 2010 horror film The Reeds, in which a boating trip on the Norfolk Broads uncovers a ‘terrifying secret hidden’. She has also had small roles in TV programmes Skins and Peep Show.
