Deli killer had terrifying arsenal in f lat

- From Claire Duffin in Paris and Emine Sinmaz in Istanbul

A FLAT used by the Paris kosher supermarket gunman Amedy Coulibaly contained a chilling arsenal of weapons.

The cache, built up in the weeks before the 32-year-old slaughtered four hostages, included three Kalashnikovs, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, pistols, bombs, smoke grenades, knives, ammunition and industrial explosives.

A photograph issued last night by investigators also showed handguns and a bullet-proof camouflage vest.

Police said other evidence discovered at the flat in the suburb of Gentilly, south of Paris, had linked a ‘fourth man’ to the killings.

They are believed to have found a scooter at the house connecting the man to the shooting of a jogger in nearby Fontenay-aux-Roses on the same day 12 people were massacred at Charlie Hebdo magazine.

Tests on shell casings found at the scene have already linked the weapon used in the attack – which left the jogger seriously injured – to the one used by Coulibaly at the kosher deli.

However the victim described his attacker as being of European appearance, not black like Coulibaly. The ‘fourth man’ has not been named, but is said to have a long criminal record and to have been radicalised in prison.

Turkish police have also reportedly detained a group of suspected IS recruiters in the southern town of San- liurfa. Coulibaly’s wife Hayat Boumeddiene, 26, stayed in the town before crossing into Syria on January 8.

And Joachim Fritz- Joly – a Frenchman and alleged friend of Charlie Hebdo gunman Cherif Kouachi – is in custody in Bulgaria after trying to cross into Turkey. He denies being a member of a terrorist ring.

QUESTIONS are being raised over where to bury the three gunmen responsible f or l ast week’s Paris attacks. French law states a person should be buried in the town where they live – but there are fears their graves could become extremist shrines. Their bodies are currently in a mortuary in the east of the capital, where they will stay until police finish their investigations. An alternative would be to bury them in secret overseas.
