Apple watch that replaces car keys

THE days of wearing a watch simply to tell the time seem to be disappearing fast after Apple announced that its new smartwatch would also replace your car keys.

Apple boss Tim Cook did not explain how the function on the internet-enabled Apple Watch would work, but experts predict users will be able to point it at their vehicles and unlock them from a distance.

It will also remind wearers to get up and move around after Mr Cook said the modern sedentary lifestyle was ‘the new cancer’. The device, which will also monitor your heart rate, will be sold from April for around £300.
