Pipe targets double with hot Rathealy

- ROBIN GOODFELLOW

RATHEALY (Newbury, nap, 4.00) reappears quickly after beating the well-handicapped Sirop De Menthe in a similar race at Plumpton on Monday and looks poised to follow up. Rathealy won by six lengths and his 7lb penalty is offset by David Pipe using claiming jockey Michael Heard. The big race on the card, the Greatwood Gold Cup, can go to SOUND INVESTMENT (Newbury, 3.25), adding to the successful Saturday big chase record of trainer Paul Nicholls and jockey Sam Twiston-Davies. Keith Reveley’s NIGHT IN MILAN (Doncaster, 3.45) won the BetBright Grimthorpe Chase last year and is hard to oppose again this time.
