The key findings of Ashcroft’s shock poll
LORD Ashcroft’s poll of Scottish constituencies contained a number of findings that will alarm Labour two months before the General Election, including:
The Labour vote is set to fall in all eight constituencies polled.
Labour voters are more likely to switch to the SNP than the other way around.
Labour’s key message that the recovery is not reaching the wider public is failing, as two thirds believe they will be better off next year.
Even among those voters dissatisfied with David Cameron, less than a third would prefer Ed Miliband as Prime Minister.
SNP campaigners are more active than Labour in all eight constituencies.
Less than one in five wants a Labour majority government, compared to around a third who want a Labour and SNP coalition, which is more popular in all constituencies.
