Keane in court over ‘road rage’
ROY Keane must appear in court over an alleged road-rage row with a taxi driver.
Former Manchester United captain Keane (pictured) has been summonsed before Trafford Magistrates after it was alleged he behaved aggressively towards Fateh Kerar, 44, in Altrincham on January 30. Greater Manchester Police said Keane, of Hale, Cheshire, was accused of a Section 4A Public Order offence.
This covers types of conduct which may amount to threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, according to Crown Prosecution Service guidelines.
Keane, 43, enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Old Trafford. His no-nonsense approach, on and off the field, has seen him establish himself as a TV football pundit.
He also played for Celtic and later managed Sunderland and Ipswich. He is now an assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland’s national team. He will appear on March 31.
