Oh no, Rod’s doing a Kim Kardashian!

ROD STEWART and his wife Penny Lancaster are to star in a new reality show. The couple have signed up to a series with the U.S. network E!, just like the Kardashians and the Osbournes before them. From the producers’ perspective, one can see the allure. Rod has eight children by five different mothers and has been married three times. Cue revolving cast of warring characters and ex-wives; a juicy prospect as the divorces were clearly so bruising. Rod once said: ‘Instead of getting married again, I’m just going to find a woman I don’t like and give her a house.’ But why are happily married Rod and Penny even bothering with this? They don’t need the money, nor the exposure. Perhaps Rod’s son Sean is behind the move. The 33-year-old, who has struggled with drug and alcohol problems in the past, has become a regular on low-rent Hollywood reality shows. Now he is dragging down the whole family. There may be trouble ahead. The Stewart clan would do well to note what has happened to Susan Sarandon. The 68-year-old actress has just split, after a fiveyear romance, from her 37-year-old boyfriend Jonathan Bricklin. Not because of the age difference, but because she hated appearing in his American reality show, Connected. ‘You’re a cast member, I’m not,’ said Sarandon, as she left him. Rod has been warned.
