WHy not try to land your own catch of the day this month?
Many Scottish rivers open to anglers early in the year, and the brown trout season officially begins on March 15. If you’re lucky enough to get a bite, try brown trout baked with fresh chives and parsley or peppered wild salmon in a whisky cream sauce.
For those who’d rather leave the hard work to the professionals, you’ll find a wide range of fish and seafood in fishmongers and restaurants this month. Langoustines, oysters, haddock and hake are all available, and look out for lobster, razor clams and mussels.
