Plane silly

WHiLE feeling deep sympathy for the two plane spotters detained in Dubai, i must also express incredulity that with things being as they are in the Middle East at present, even two British enthusiasts could be as naïve as they appear to have been.

Some years ago i travelled extensively in the region and even back then, before the present furore, most travellers were more than circumspect about behaviour relating to alcohol use and anything remotely religious or political or with military implications. Let’s hope the men are released quickly and returned home safely.
