Blinkered teaching
‘WE’LL teach you how to be a socialist for £9,000 a year’ is how the prospectus for my social policy and law degree at university in Scotland should conclude.
My l ectures are heavily biased, frequently condemning Right-wing policies and often disrespecting Conservative individuals. Admittedly, this is f rustrating though l argely harmless i f one possesses established views — but I’ve witnessed many bright but politically unaware classmates sucked in by this blinkered Left-wing teaching.
It’s nothing less than indoctrination. Encouragement to evaluate Government policies independently, facilitated by balanced teaching, is in urgent need of implementation.
But then again, socialists don’t l i ke ordinary people choosing because they might not choose socialism. CHARLOTTE PARKIN, Peterborough, Cambs.
