Aggreko slips up
PROVIDING energy for the World Cup and Commonwealth Games was not enough to help temporary power giant Aggreko weather the impact of a strong pound.
The FTSE 100 firm hires out temporary generators. The Commonwealth Games and World Cup gave it a £19m boost but strong sterling knocked off £40m.
New boss Chris Weston said the 13pc fall in annual profits to £289m would not trigger a shake up.
Shares slipped 11p to 1625p after the group announced the drop.
The group, which has operations in 45 countries, is also likely to be hit by falling price of oil.
