Four charged in Becky case
THREE men and a woman appeared in court yesterday accused of helping to hide the dismembered body of murdered teenager Becky Watts, pictured.
Karl Demetrius, 29 and his 23- year- old girlfriend, Jaydene Parsons, were charged with assisti ng an offender after the 16year- old’s r emains were found in their home on Monday.
The couple allegedly acted to help Becky’s stepbrother Nathan Matthews, who has been charged with her murder, evade detection.
Karl’s twin Donovan and James Ireland, 23, also stood in the dock at Bristol Magistrates Court charged with the s ame off ence of assisting in t he ‘disposal and concealment’ of body parts.
Relatives crammed into the public gallery wept as District Judge Lynne Matthews remanded them in custody.
No applications for bail were made but Parsons’s lawyer said she ‘vehemently denies any involvement’.
Earlier Matthews, 28, was remanded in custody for his own protection.
