It’s but ’n’ ben Kenobi: Star Ewan finds his dream home
WITH a multi-million-pound fortune, Hollywood star Ewan McGregor could afford to live anywhere in the world.
But the Scots actor has revealed that the place where he would like to end his days is a modest white house in the Perthshire hills.
Despite living thousands of miles away in California, McGregor stills spends a lot of time in Scotland, touring the country on his motorbike and taking pictures.
And earlier this week the 43-year-old actor posted his most recent shots on Instagram, directing followers to a tiny white speck in the hills near his childhood home in Crieff. The Star
‘It’s nice that he still comes back’
Wars actor famed for playing Obi-Wan Kenobi identified it as the house to which he dreams of retiring one day with his family and ‘dug’ called Sid.
He wrote online: ‘I daydream of growing old in that wee white house up on the hill to the right. Eve. Kids. Grandkids. Dug. Few sheep. Lovely.’
McGregor and his French designer wife Eve Mavrakis will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary later this year.
The couple have four daughters – Clara Mathilde, 19, now studying to be a photographer in New York, Esther Rose, 13, Jayman, 13, and Anouk, 4.
McGregor’s dream home sits on the Glenturret Estate.
Yesterday the owners of the house were unavailable but a close friend said: ‘They have met Ewan’s uncle and know that he is from Crieff. I am sure they would be delighted to know that he wants to live in their home – it is very beautiful.
‘It’s nice that he is a local and still comes back. To pick their home out is really quite nice.’
