BACK in the 1980s, nothing more subtly undermined the then Liberal leader David steel than his spitting Image puppet, depicting him as a tiny figure in the jacket pocket of social Democratic Party leader David Owen.

so by adapting the image to show Mr Miliband in Mr salmond’s pocket, the Conservatives have for once come up with a clever advertising idea.

One warning: as the opinion polls stand, it looks all too possible that, within two months, Britain will be governed by Mr Miliband in coalition with an SNP dedicated to destroying the United Kingdom.

If that happens, the Tories’ jocular poster could well become a reality. and that will be no laughing matter.
