Liverpool flops to be shown the door

-

LIVERPOOL face a major rebuilding job this summer as a mass exodus looms large at Anfield. Manager Brendan Rodgers, who faces another trophyless season after the shock FA Cup semi-final defeat to Aston Villa, could see almost a whole team of his players leave. Captain Steven Gerrard has already agreed to join LA Galaxy, while defenders Glen Johnson and Kolo Toure are out of contract and set to go on free transfers. Raheem Sterling is in the midst of a contract stand-off with the club, and Manchester City are certain to make an offer, while Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are also thought to be keen on the winger. Defender Martin Skrtel is still to agree a new contract and Wolfsburg plan a move this summer. Right-back Javi Manquillo is set to return to Spain after failing to make an impact, while the club will listen to offers for Mario Balotelli, although getting rid of a man on £80,000 per week will be easier said than done. Fellow strikers Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert could also depart Anfield as Rodgers looks to rebuild. There was one good piece of news for Liverpool fans last night, however, when Jordan Henderson agreed a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2020.

ENGLAND and Ireland are facing a summer tussle over the international future of Aston Villa star Jack Grealish. The 19-year-old, who lit up Villa’s FA Cup semifinal win over Liverpool, has already represented Ireland Under-21s but also qualifies for England after being born and raised in Birmingham.
