Jailed for twerking at war memorial
THREE women have been jailed in Russia for twerking in front of a Second World War memorial.
One was given 15 days and the others ten days by a court in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk for their ‘erotic and sexual twerk dance’.
Six dancers – who had posted a video on YouTube – were involved. One, a minor, wasn’t convicted while another two were fined on charges of petty hooliganism. ‘This incident of disrespect for the memory of war history is unacceptable and any attempts to desecrate sites of military glory will be stopped immediately,’ prosecutors said.
Recently officials closed a dance school in the Russian city of Orenburg after a video entitled Winnie the Pooh and the Bees emerged on the internet. It showed teenage girls on stage in striped leotards performing hipthrusting twerking moves and is being investigated for alleged debauchery.
