2million-to-1, the royal baby copycats

- Daily Mail Reporter

A WOMAN has beaten odds of almost two million-to-one by giving birth on the same day as the Duchess of Cambridge for the second time.

Monika Tano, 35, had her first daughter, Liliana, on July 22, 2013, the same day as Prince George was born.

On Saturday at 1.47am she gave birth to Aurelia, who arrived a week early – and rather suddenly – weighing 3lb 7oz.

Polish-born Mrs Tano, a single mother of three, was forced to give birth alone in the living room of her home in Kingstanding, Birmingham, because Aurelia arrived after a 45-minute labour.

After she had already delivered her daughter herself, paramedics arrived and cut the umbilical cord. Mother and baby were taken to Birmingham Women’s Hospital but both were allowed home on Saturday afternoon.

Mrs Tano, who also has a sixyear-old son Franek, said: ‘It is a huge coincidence, I just can’t believe it. Aurelia was due next Saturday so was a week early and I believe Kate’s baby is a week late so I never thought it would happen again. It feels amazing to have two children who share royal births, it is just fantastic.

‘It will definitely be a story for my two little girls to tell all their friends when they are grown up.’

She added: ‘My ex-husband Alain was staying with me and I shouted him to come downstairs but she had already come out by the time he got there.’

Bookmakers Ladbrokes said Mrs Tano had beaten odds of 1,880,000-to-one to give birth to two children on identical dates to the Duchess of Cambridge.
