Surely Andy’s not going to be a dad so soon?
IT was Scotland’s wedding of the year when Andy Murray married Kim Sears last month.
So fans of the tennis star were surprised to see he was set to become a dad.
Their astonishment grew when they learned he was apparently about to father a child with Brooklyn Decker – the wife of fellow tennis ace Andy Roddick - and not Kim, pictured.
The scandal rapidly abated, however, when it emerged Murray had been named on a news website by accident – and the prospective father was Roddick himself.
Murray saw the funny side, tweeting: ‘Not sure my wife and @andyroddick will be best pleased to find these out via Twitter! #error.’ But he added: ‘Congrats to the real parents @andyroddick and @BrooklynDecker.’
Miss Decker’s spokesman said: ‘I’m happy to confirm Brooklyn and Andy are expecting a new addition to their family in the autumn.’
The model and actress, who stars in upcoming Netflix show Grace and Frankie, announced her pregnancy on Instagram. She posted a picture with the caption: ‘So this happened… #the3ofus.’
The pair have been married for six years and the actress made no secret of her desire to start a family. ‘I love kids, I definitely want kids,’ she said last year. ‘I just have to figure out the timing of that.’
Murray is due to finish the Munich Open Final against Philipp Kohlschreiber today, the match having been rained off yesterday with the German 3-2 ahead in the first set.
