Bikini girl Lorraine’s fury at diet pill scammers’ ads

- By Maureen Sugden

AS a svelte size 10-12 and fan of healthy eating and Zumba classes, she’s happier with her figure than she has ever been.

So Lorraine Kelly is particularly outraged over the latest bid to link her name to a suspected diet pill scam.

The Scots TV star yesterday said she is ‘so angry’ that some of her fans are ‘still being scammed by disgraceful con artists who claim that I have lost weight by taking their product’.

The 55-year-old has frequently been linked in online adverts with products such as raspberry ketone pills, with alleged ‘before’ and ‘after’ shots of her seemingly showing the effect of the tablets supposedly used to speed- up the metabolism. Just a day after taking part in her first-ever bikini shoot and releasing the images, Miss Kelly said she was issuing a ‘plea from the heart’ to ensure that no one falls for the diet con.

She said: ‘I’m so angry that they are using my image without my permission and have taken legal action which shuts them down for a while, but then they spring up again like stubborn, toxic weeds.

‘I have worked hard to get in shape by eating sensibly and going to exercise classes two or three times a week. I have actually worked my ass off in those classes and it is upsetting when people try to claim that I dropped two dress sizes by taking some sort of “raspberry ketone” pill.’

The row comes as Miss Kelly, who lives with husband Steve near Dundee, prepares to launch the Bikini Promise on her Lorraine show from June 8, which will feature exercise tips and healthy eating advice to help women feel more confident in their figures.

Speaking about the bikini shots, which she stressed were not altered ‘in any way’, she said: ‘I look OK for my age. Not by any stretch of the imagination have I got a perfect body, but if I can do it, other women can too.’
