IT SEEMS it now takes more than £350 a month to make a young female child look attractive and able to enter ‘beauty’ contests (Mail). Well, how times change. Forty years ago it costs the proverbial ‘peanuts’ for our daughter, Jacquie, to look like this — and she then didn’t have to go through the awful spectacle of the bizarre contests.
