Erasing hard work

PROFESSOR Guy Claxton believes children who use rubbers on school work turn into liars (mail). might it not indicate that a child who uses a rubber takes pride in the appearance of their work and might, with luck, be less inclined to turn i nto yet another litter lout of the future who takes no pride at all in either himself or his country?
