THE rewarding Danish drama about fractious siblings begins its new, second series with a slow burner that finishes in dramatic style. Signe and Gro are living in a commune-like atmosphere at their mother’s old house, and the rivalry between them still simmers. Meanwhile, Frederik strives for normal family life, and Emil is embittered in Thailand.

DETECTIVE DRAMA Murder In The First, 10pm, Fox

THE new, ten-episode second season of this U.S. investigat­ive drama follows a single case — just like the first. Kathleen Robertson and Taye Diggs (pictured) return as its very watchable pair of homicide detectives for a story that opens with a deadly attack on a school bus, and then dives deep into the San Francisco underworld.

ON-DEMAND SERIES Orange Is The New Black, Netflix (Season 3) )

THIS U.S. drama a returns for a new, third season, and with some good comic moments — but the dominant mood is melancholi­c, especially for Vause, who isn’tt enjoying being back in prison. And she has no idea that it was Piper (Taylor Schilling, pictured) who put her there. This feels soapy to begin with, but there are big changes to come.

NINETIES SHOW Crocodile Shoes, 11pm, Drama

THE first of a repeat for a seven-part BBC drama from 1994, which Jimmy Nail wrote, starred in and produced. He also sang the theme tune, and had a hit with it. Here, Nail plays a lathe operator who dreams of becoming a country singer, and makes the odyssey from Newcastle to Nashville.
