Mums fall for bearded ‘sex symbol’
JEREMY Corbyn has emerged as the surprise sex symbol of the Labour leadership contest.
The bearded hard-Left candidate was the subject of a discussion on the parenting website Mumsnet, asking: ‘Anyone else think that Jeremy Corbyn is very sexy?’
One admirer said the 66-year-old was desirable in a ‘Michael Gove sort of way’ because he was a man with principles.
Another user compared him to the headmaster in the Harry Potter books, saying that ‘if you half fancied Dumbledore, Corbyn is probably in the same arena’. He was praised for his ‘world weary, old sea dog’ look, while another admirer wrote: ‘He was on the news the other night and he looked like he’d just spent two weeks in the pub – he’s got a coolness about him.’
His ex-wife Jane Chapman might not agree – she says she is considering backing his rival Yvette Cooper.
Mumsnet users were not so kind about another leadership contender, Andy Burnham, with one comparing him to a ‘ventriloquist’s dummy’ and another wondering whether he wore make up.
